Child Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested: Crimes Occurred in Folsom in 2003
The Folsom Police Department was advised by Portland Police Department investigators of alleged crimes against a minor child which occurred in Folsom in 2003.
The investigations regarding those crimes were further investigated by the Folsom Criminal Investigations Bureau. On 4/22/2010 detectives from the Folsom Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for John Schenberger, 44 years old, of Atascadero.
The warrant request alleged Schenberger resided in Folsom in 2003 when he committed 109 counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor child under the age of fourteen. The warrant request additionally alleged Schenberger committed 408 acts of penetration with a foreign object (also on a minor under the age of fourteen).
The minor child was twelve years old when she was allegedly victimized by the suspect. The warrant was granted for 31 counts of 288(a) PC- Lewd and With the assistance of law enforcement agencies in Atascadero and Fremont, investigators tracked Schenberger to his employer Robodoc, an international technology corporation headquartered in Fremont. Fremont Police detectives arrested him without incident.
Schenberger acknowledged to the arresting officers that he was aware he would eventually be arrested. He has made statements to family members in recent weeks that he would be leaving soon for South Korea on business. Schenberger waived his right to be taken to a magistrate in Alameda County, and therefore, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail by Folsom investigators.
Schenberger is being held at the Sacramento County Jail and is ineligible for bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for 5/7/2010 at 1:30 p.m.
