MHT and ToolsGroup Release Demand Planning and Inventory Optimization Solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX

New Product, SO99AX, to Be Introduced at Convergence Atlanta 2010

ToolsGroup, a global provider of supply chain planning (SCP) and inventory optimization solutions, and MHT, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, today announced SO99AX, a new demand planning and inventory optimization solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX. To be introduced on April 24 at Convergence Atlanta 2010, this is the first product to add inventory optimization to demand and replenishment planning for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Many Microsoft Dynamics AX users are challenged to better forecast demand and improve customer service performance while reducing costs and inventories. With SO99AX, these manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers can overcome demand and distribution challenges to achieve dramatically enhanced supply chain performance.

This new solution replaces and enhances Microsoft Dynamics AX Demand Planner 2.0. It combines three important SCP functions; demand planning, inventory optimization and replenishment planning, in a tightly integrated platform.

• Demand Planning -- SO99AX offers an extensive toolkit for demand planning. Statistical forecasting and demand modeling tools address a wide variety of demand behaviors such as: trend, seasonality, daily, intra-week and intra-monthly sales profiles, promotions, new product launches, product life cycles and substitutions.
  
  
• Inventory Optimization -- Rather than just a "one size fits all" approach, SO99AX calculates optimal inventories that reliably deliver target customer service levels, even for very high service levels up to 99+%. It calculates the best safety stocks, lot sizes and even where to allocate inventory in a multi-echelon or multi-channel network.
  
  
• Replenishment Planning -- SO99AX automatically creates constrained time-phased replenishment proposals. It accurately identifies both internal deployment (between facilities) and external replenishment from suppliers.
  
  

Beyond adding inventory optimization, SO99AX's most unique feature is a "probability engine" that understands demand and supply variability throughout the entire network. It automatically overcomes supply chain randomness, dramatically reducing the need for constant forecast adjustments and inventory model tuning by experts. So it has a lower cost of ownership (TCO) and has proven superior for handling intermittent or "lumpy demand."
