2010 NAB Show Veteran says 3D Gives Him a Headache

I met Witt Monts, Director of Photography in Northern California, at the 2010 NAB show in Las Vegas. Witt told NewsBlaze about his impressions of the show.

Witt does education, documentary and corporate video work, so he was looking for innovations to help him do it better. That, as well as hanging out with his friends, which he says he does every year, possibly his 28th NAB show.

"This year, all the 3D stuff is giving me a headache, but mostly nowadays, I come to see the little things, lights, microphones and camera support equipment," Witts said.

There was certainly a lot of camera support equipment. We followed DSLR University around, and checked out the great gear, including an amazing body stabilizer at VariZoom, the wonderful zFinder at Zacuto, plus nice gear at Glidecam and Cinevate.

There were stunning visual effects plugins at Red Giant and the amazing audio and video synchronization from Singular Software. I missed getting details, but Adobe had a truly awe-inspiring after effects demo on a massive screen.

Thanks to NAB, for putting on another really great - and absolutely massive show - my feet hurt from all the running around we did! Next year, we'll plan better and be there for more than one day.
