Women's Shelter Names Wells Fargo Business of the Year
HANFORD, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Barbara Saville Women's Shelter announced today that Wells Fargo has
been named Business of the Year. Volunteers at the center chose the
winner by looking at companies that provided monetary and volunteer
support to the shelter.
"Wells Fargo exemplifies what we are looking for in a community
partnership to support our efforts at the shelter," said Jeff Garner,
community outreach and marketing director for Kings Community Action
Organization. "The volunteers' dedication and the companies' financial
support have enabled us to take tremendous strides in providing for the
women in our community."
Wells Fargo donated $5,000 in 2009 to the Women's Shelter which is part
of the Kings Community Action Organization in Hanford. The shelter is
the only one in King's county which has one of the highest unemployment
rates in California.
"We are proud to receive this honor and look forward to continuing to
support our local community organizations," said Neal Crapo, a Wells
Fargo commercial banking regional vice president who serves as treasurer
for the shelter and is on its board of directors. "At Wells Fargo, we
are committed to serving the needs of our community members and
improving their overall quality of life."
