Renowned Pianist Monika Herzig and Friends to Perform at Robbie's House of Jazz

Pianist Monika Herzig (Owl Studios label) and friends will appear at Robbie's House of Jazz (Webster Groves, MO) in May.

Friends to appear include: Steve Davis (drums), Peter Kienle (bass), Janiece Jaffee (vocals) and possibly other surprise guests for an incredible evening of entertainment that will span various genres from pop to jazz.

A faculty member at Indiana University, Dr. Monika Herzig has also performed at many prestigious jazz clubs and festivals, such as the Indy Jazz Fest, Cleveland's Nighttown, Louisville's Jazz Factory, the W.C. Handy Festival, Jazz in July in Bloomington and Cincinnati, Columbus' Jazz & Rib Fest, to name just a few. Groups under her leadership have toured Germany and have appeared at events featuring acts like Tower of Power, Sting, the Dixie Dregs, Yes, and more.

In addition to numerous recordings with the fusion group BeebleBrox, she has produced four albums as leader of the Monika Herzig Acoustic Project. What Have you Gone and Done was voted one of the 10 best recordings of 2007 by indymusic.com. Peace on Earth was released locally in 2008 and was released nationally in 2009 under the Owl Studios label to rave reviews. A new project is planned for release in 2011.
