Pentagon Channel Expands Reach In MD

Pentagon Channel Now available on Comcast in Annapolis and Anne Arundel, Calvert and Charles Counties in Maryland

ALEXANDRIA, VA, March 25, 2010 - The Pentagon Channel and Comcast today announced that the military channel is now available in Annapolis as well as Anne Arundel, Calvert and Charles Counties in Maryland. The Pentagon Channel appears on Comcast's Digital Classic channel 185 in these areas.

The Pentagon Channel brings live Department of Defense news briefings in full, interviews with top Defense officials, short stories about the work of our military, important information about military benefits, and programs from each branch of the services to servicemembers, their families, and other interested viewers. The Pentagon Channel's flagship shows include "Around the Services," a look at what's going on at each branch of the military, and "RECON," a half-hour informational program providing an in-depth look on a variety of topics from real world operations, missions, and military events. In addition, the Pentagon Channel offers several military lifestyle programs such as: Fit for Duty, Grill Sergeants, FNG & Command Performance.

"The expansion of our programming on Comcast across additional Maryland markets helps us fulfill our mission of providing timely military news and information to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces."

The Pentagon Channel broadcasts military news and information for and about the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces - Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve. The channel is available on-base to more than 1.3 million service members who live and work on more than 368 military bases, camps and installations in the U.S. and to the 800,000 service members and their families serving overseas in 178 countries via the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS).

Comcast, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, has 23.6 million cable customers, 15.9 million high-speed Internet customers, and 7.6 million Comcast Digital Voice customers.
