Contribuventure Team Takes to the Street and Pushes Pedals to Raise Money for Wounded Warriors

Richmond, VA, March 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Experience an adventure and make a contribution at the same time? Why not? Contribuventurists Phil Dwyer and Jake Allen are combining adventure, fun, excitement and technology to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The Warrior Pride Ride is a bicycle ride from Washington D.C. to Virginia Beach, VA, beginning on May 30, 2010.

Jake and Phil will ride, unsupported, stopping along the way to thank wounded warriors. The two will carry everything they need with them and anything else will have to come from the good will of others along the way. The end of the ride will coincide with a patriotic festival in Virginia Beach the first weekend in June.

Having both served in the military, and with many friends still in the Service, the two want to contribute their time and energy to those Servicemen and Servicewomen returning from combat zones with serious injuries. “It pains me read and hear about the seriously injured young men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. I want to be doing all that I can to help in some way,” says Phil Dwyer. He goes on to say, “We need help though to reach our $5000 contribution goal for the Warrior Pride Ride.”

The two have created a blog site so that anyone can follow along with them. They write regularly about their efforts to raise money and get in shape for the ride. During the ride they plan to post daily video updates about their journey and the people they meet along the way.

You can find their site at warriorprideride.contribuventure.com.

The two have also taken another step to support others. They have formed the Contribuventure Foundation, Inc. This non-profit entity will not only focus on veterans but will enable anyone who wants to combine fun, challenge, and adventure with supporting their own cause. “We talk to people all the time that say, 'That's really cool, I'd love to do something like that but...' We're here to help others remove their obstacles and experience their own contributventures in life,” says Jake Allen.

Please help support their effort.
