Ex Drinks Announces Formation of Professional Gravity Mountain Bike Team
HENDERSON, Nev. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Ex Drinks recently announced the formation of a professional gravity
mountain bike team with the signing of top up-and-coming riders Mitch
Ropelato and Christian Wright, both ranked No. 1 in Downhill (2009) for
their respective age classes by USA Cycling, the governing body for all
disciplines of competitive cycling in the United States. Ropelato, 18,
of Ogden, Utah, is coming off impressive wins at the Pro National
Championship in 4x and the Expert Championship in Downhill. Wright, 16,
of Auburn, California, is coming off a Silver Medal at the National
Championship 4x, adding to his 50 plus career podiums as a junior.
Team Ex Drinks, a professional UCI (Union Cyclists International)
gravity mountain bike team, will be opening its season in April at the
Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, followed by a number of
national and international UCI and USA Cycling events. Both riders will
be vying to place at the World Championships at Mont-Sainte Anne this
September in Quebec. Additional sponsors of the team include Fox Racing
Shox, Fox Clothing and Protection, Edge Composites, Maxxis Tires, Chris
King, Race Face, Gene Hamilton's Better-Ride Camps, E-Thirteen
Components, SDG Seats, Brothers Bikes, The Bike Shoppe and The Hub.
Ropelato will be riding Specialized frames, and Wright will be riding
