Laurie Ann Smith, "A Life of Death: The Redemption"
Child Abuse & Human Rights Advocate, Laurie Ann Smith, of Calgary, Alberta Canada has released her first book: "A Life of Death: The Redemption."
Smith invites you into this amazing memoir which depicts her life as she reveals her truth of the horrific abuse she endured by the hands of those who were suppose to protect and love her the most; her parents.
Smith spent her entire childhood witnessing her family's suffering, rage and hatred. Her family was absorbed and destroyed by their own addictions due to ignorance, lack of education, poverty, marital abuse, alcohol, drugs, domestic violence and the unfortunate cycle of abuse passed down from generation to generation.
Smith's dysfunctional upbringing would mold, shape and sculpt her life until she would mirror their actions into her own adulthood. These actions would set the stage for Smith's own rocky path to self-destruction, depression, pain and suffering.
Smith's luck changed when she was introduced to a family that would finally show her unconditional love and kindness. Their positive influence would change Smith's life, forever. Today, her only hope is to help others who have suffered from child abuse as she has by volunteering at many child abuse & human rights organizations as an advocate to try to make a difference. She also serves as Dreamcatchers for Abused Children's Canada Regional Director and Dreamcatchers Radio Talk show host with co-host, Donna Kshir.
Her book is available @ the Kshir & Potter Bookstore @ http://stores.lulu.com/kshirandpotter, and will be available @ Amazon.com later this month.
