AFL to Broadcast New Season Online in 2010

The Arena Football League (AFL) and Network Foundation Technologies (NiFTy) announced today that the 2010 season will be available for live viewing on the AFL Live online broadcast network.

AFL Live, powered by NiFTy's patented online broadcasting technology, will provide Free-For-View live access to all AFL regular season games, except for the weekly designated Game of the Week to be televised on the NFL Network. After a one year hiatus, the reformed AFL for 2010 consists of previous AFL teams, former af2 (arenafootball 2) teams, and some new teams. The af2 and NiFTy partnered for the previous two seasons to provide live online broadcasting through the well-received and fan favorite af2TV network.

"We are very pleased to partner again with NiFTy," AFL Commissioner, and former af2 President, Jerry B. Kurz said. "Our fans have made it clear they want live television and online coverage of our games, and we are very excited to be able to offer both in a very complementary format."

"We are really looking forward to the opportunity to carry the 2010 AFL season online," said Marcus Morton, NiFTy's President and co-founder. "This is our third year carrying arena-style football, and it's been a great complement to our growing broadcast family."

Viewers access the broadcasts using the AFL Live media player. In addition to live broadcast coverage, AFL Live will provide unlimited Video On Demand access to all broadcast games throughout the season. The player will be available for downloading beginning on March 19th, and the AFL season begins April 2. Game schedules and the player are available on the AFL website at www.arenafootball.com.
