(Stone Mountain, GA) AABoomers.com, the on-line magazine for and about the 9.1 million African American Baby Boomers, recognizes the contributions of African-American Baby Boomer women in its March issue in observance of Women's History Month.
"Throughout our history, African American women have made significant contributions to American history, in general, and African American history, in particular," said AABoomers.com Publisher Lois-Ann Clark, recently, in announcing the posting of the March issue of AAboomers.com.
"From Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth, whose poignant question "Ain't I a Woman?" is still relevant today when the media refers to "women and Blacks", as if African Americans were an androgynous group, to our venerable First Lady, Michelle Obama, African American women have been trailblazers in all areas of endeavor."
"We are honored to highlight the contributions of several of our "sisters" in this month's issue, including Kam Williams' interview of Cathy Hughes of TVOne, whose media empire includes a cross-section of the media, consisting of radio, television, and digital outlets In addition, the March issue recognizes Jackie Jenkins-Scott, the first African American president of predominately white Wheelock College in Boston, MA. "I am especially pleased to recognize President Jenkins-Scott" mentioned Clark," since Wheelock is my alma mater."
