Ocean Shores Razor Clam Festival

OCEAN SHORES, Wash., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fourth Annual Ocean Shores Razor Clam Festival and Chowder Cook-off will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 10 AM to 6 PM. A variety of events and activities, including the Chowder Cook-off, with celebrity guest host Kathy Casey, will take place in the Ocean Shores Convention Center and surrounding venues. Admission is $2 for Adults, with Children under 12 admitted free. There is also a clam dig scheduled for this year, pending final approval from Washington State's Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The Chowder Cook-off has two divisions, Amateur and Restaurant Chef, and offers a year's worth of bragging rights along the north beach area for its winners. Attendees will get a chance to sample many of the best chowders Ocean Shores and North Beach restaurants have to offer.

Dish D'lish owner and KOMO Radio celebrity, Kathy Casey and her staff will again head the judging panel this year.

A Firefighters' All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast will precede clam fest activities from 7:00 AM - 9:45 AM. Tickets $5 at the door.

Events will include live music all day long, an Artisans' marketplace featuring northwest artists, contests for the best decorated clam shovel & clam gun and a Kids Zone with face painting, balloons and a visit from the Ocean Shores Pirates.

A clam dig is tentatively scheduled for March 27, and low tide will be at 5:15 PM. Additional activities include a VIP cocktail party with special guest Kathy Casey, 5:00 PM Friday March 26th at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino, followed by the Family Dinner and Coronation Ball (dinner & dance) featuring the crowning of 2010's King & Queen Clam, Friday March 26th at the Ocean Shores Shilo Inn. Saturday evening here will be a Dinner & Dance (Adults only) at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino, $25 admission.
