Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing Appoints Three New Members to Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES, March 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing (GLEH) today announced the appointment of Jim McPartlin, Orlando Rivera and Dr. Nick Gutierrez to its Board of Directors.

McPartlin, River and Dr. Gutierrez bring proven leadership skills and broad experience in project development, management, education, social service, mental health and elder care to our organization." said Mark Supper, Executive Director.

Jim McPartlin is the General Manager of W Hollywood and Residences at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The glamorous W Hollywood is situated at the iconic corner of Hollywood and Vine - just steps away from GLEH's landmark Triangle Square Hollywood development.

Orlando Rivera, is Assistant Professor in the Alcohol and Drug Studies department of Glendale Community College, a highly acclaimed program that trains individuals as alcohol and drug abuse specialists. Orlando brings to the board his personal interests in elder substance use/misuse and medication management among the growing LGBT elder community.

"It is with a sense of duty and responsibility that I too involve myself with the care and wellness of our E-LGBT community," states Mr. Rivera

Dr. Nick Gutierrez is an Adult and Geriatric Psychiatrist with Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center who specialized in addressing serious mental illnesses which lead to frequent hospitalization or homelessness. He brings experience in behavioral health issues that afflict our low-income LGBT elders and will strengthen our capacity to address senior mental health issues.

Gay & Lesbian Elder Housing is the nation's first nonprofit, low-income housing development that includes a Comprehensive Housing Care program supporting LGBT elders, both residents and non-residents. 35 of Triangle Square's units are set aside for people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or who are living with HIV/AIDS and the balance of units housing various other low income E-LGBT individuals.
