Celebrities make oodles of money, and we imagine that they are financially set for life. But when you are supporting a drug habit, an entourage, and have several residences, the money will quickly go down the drain.
Corey Haim starred or co-starred in a string of hit movies in the 80's, but he died a pauper. Haim was so cash-strapped that the city of Toronto will help cover the costs of the actor.
Those of us who are cubicle dwellers or blue-collar workers envy the celebs that grace the covers of the tabloids, but I wouldn't trade my life with them. All too often they are battling demons that rob them of all the benefits of wealth and fame.
It's unfortunate that Corey Haim died penniless, but he left behind a wealth of movies that we can still enjoy on DVD.
