The Voyage to the US of Britain's Talent Continues and it's Not Just in Music
AUSTIN, Texas - (BUSINESS WIRE) - UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) sets the stage for business development
among British Music, digital and creative service companies and their US
counterparts with panels and high-end matchmaking events during SXSW
2010 from March 12-21 in Austin, TX.
British
Music [http://www.britishmusic.biz/about],
the alliance of UKTI and British music industry trade organizations,
works to foster the commercial side of the creative industry and
collectively creates a formidable SXSW presence of over 150 acts and
over 500 companies, the most robust national presence at the festival,
second in size only to the US.
With multiple education, networking events, and performances at the "British
Music Embassy" [http://britishmusic.biz/SXSW],
UKTI helps create opportunities for British companies to network, assist
with knowledge on licences, copyright, and marketing all with the goal
of helping UK artists and businesses tackle the US and international
markets.
"We're proud to support the successful collaboration and coordination
between UK Music, Digital and Creative industries. This has the
potential to result in an enormous amount of ongoing commercial and
creative opportunities worldwide," says Phil Patterson, International
Business Specialist for Music, UK Trade & Investment. "We believe that
by creating the right environment that brings like-minded people
together, we offer networking and business opportunities that many have
said would take years to achieve!"
UKTI will host "Content, New Technologies and the Consumer Experience,"
a specially curated half-day event showcasing UK creative excellence. It
provides a platform for UK companies looking to build their network of
US partners, clients, customers and contacts and vice versa. Focusing on
business opportunities around new technologies, digital and mobile, the
event will include panel discussions with key industry representatives,
including senior executives from brands, film studios, consumer
electronics manufacturers, music services, rights owners, mobile
companies, and artist management to engage with delegates. There will
also be two speed-networking sessions for specially invited US and UK
companies.
