2010 NCKU Student Forum Invited Synnex Technology International CEO Shu-Wu Du
TAINAN, Taiwan - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The first dialogue of 2010 NCKU Student Forum was held on March 9th,
from 6 pm to 9 pm, in Cheng-Hsing Hall. The insightful speeches
delivered by student representative Yi-Lin Tsai of the Department of
Computer Science and Information Engineering and Synnex Technology
International CEO Shu-Wu Du received enthusiastic response.
President Michael Ming-Chiao Lai and Vice-President of Student Affairs
Pi-Chin Hsu began the forum by waving the school flag and rolling the
golden ball. The lucky ball imprinted with horse drawings was passed
through the hands of the audiences from the rear stage to the front,
symbolizing the spirit of teachers leading students towards
international excellence and top achievements.
President Lai pointed out that Student Forum plays a very important role
in the NCKU education. The mission of National Cheng Kung University in
the 21st century is to train talents with excellent
professional knowledge as well as humane accomplishments, meaning
positive attitude, interpersonal relationships, outlook on the universe,
etc. He also urged the students to make use of the opportunity to meet
the master. The experience students gained from participating in the
Student Forum is far more important than attending a lecture.
Student Representative Yi-Lin Tsai gave a presentation on how he
discovered his inner self and made a breakthrough. He explained, "In my
freshman year, I joined the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation. I was
shocked when I first saw a vegetative patient. It made me think of the
meaning of life and observe the people around me. By comparing what I
observe in others and what I think in my mind, I now understand clearly
why I become what I am today." Yi-Lin Tsai urged the students to
question about their identities with daily thinking and close
observation.
Synnex Technology International CEO Shu-Wu Du, having a long-term
business management experience, shared his opinions on enterprises
employment and personnel training. He discussed the importance of the
five basic abilities, thinking, system, structure, collation and
analysis. By persistent learning and continuous practice, these
abilities will be cultivated into habits and transformed into talents,
naturally forming a positive cycle.
From the business point of view of employment, once the factors of a
working man with excellent conditions, characteristics and achievements
are examined and understood, it is not necessary to pursue the hundreds
of abilities mentioned in books. After we dismantle the hundreds of
abilities scientifically, the common factors found are the so-called
basic abilities, thinking, system, structure, collation and analysis.
Mr. Shu-Wu Du addressed to the students, "The knowledge we learned at
school and the abilities we practiced at workplace are first applied in
thinking. We must cultivate the thinking habit to think anytime and
anywhere. Once your brain starts thinking, you will look at things from
different perspectives. The process of comprehension, dismantlement,
systematical collation and analysis of a matter is the learning method
and the cultivation of the five basic abilities."
