  Share With Friends

NEW YORK, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The environmental coverage landscape is always evolving for insurers and law firms due to regulatory changes, scientific developments, and active case dockets. HB Litigation Conferences has just announced a one-day program on May 21, 2010 in New York City designed to bring professionals working in the field together to get up to speed on key topics.

"'The Environmental Claims and Insurance Coverage Crash Course' is another in our 'crash course' series where attorneys can benefit from a one-day immersion in a specific topic, valued both by attorneys new to the area as well as more experienced lawyers who need a fresh survey," said Tom Hagy, CEO of HB. "To deliver a full day of value, our development team chose a highly qualified trio of program leaders." They are, Hagy said: Lisa Cirando of Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliff of New York, Peter Mintzer of Cozen O'Connor of Seattle, and Ira Gottlieb of McCarter & English of Newark. The conference will take place at the offices of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge and features two networking events.

The chairman worked closely with HB's Senior Program Developer Jaimee Taibi, Esq., to prepare a curriculum that focuses on the present and future of the environmental claims landscape, examines new emerging coverage areas, and also takes a look at the practical issues insurers and attorneys grapple with every day in interpreting contracts, determining occurrences and allocating damages. A session designed to provide much needed attorney ethics credits is featured as well.

Session titles are: Soup to Nuts; Statutory and Regulatory Frameworks; Current and Emerging Scientific and Regulatory Issues; Underlying Litigation Case Updates and Emerging Areas; Fundamental Issues in Environmental Insurance Claims; The Brave New World of Coverage; Allocating Damages in the Underlying Cases and Coverage; Ethical Issues Arising in the Context of the Defense of Environmental and Coverage Litigation.
