SL Green Issues Statement on Aqueduct Race Track Decision

NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - SL Green Realty Corp issued the following statement today, after the Office of the Governor withdrew support for Aqueduct Entertainment Group's bid on the Aqueduct Race Track project:

SL Green CEO Marc Holliday said, "Back when AEG was tentatively selected, we expressed doubt regarding the group's ability to meet the State's conditions. So, we were gratified to learn of the Division of Lottery's findings and the decision announced today by the Office of the Governor. Moving forward, the State possesses all the information it needs to move quickly and to select one of the existing proposals. All parties would be best served by the immediate appointment of either Lottery or an independent apolitical committee to review those proposals. The decision should then be made on the respective proposals' merits and the bidders' ability to deliver the facility quickly.

"The SL Green/Hard Rock team is still interested and ready to go forward. We have already fulfilled all of Lottery's licensing requirements and we remain able to deliver on our promises - both on expedited timing and on our long-term vision for this exciting project."
