NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- PROTEUS Technologies (PROTEUS) is honored to be a 2010 winner of the Nunn-Perry Award, as an outstanding Protege small business under the Department of Defense, (DoD) Mentor-Protege (MP) Program in partnership with Mentor company Booz Allen Hamilton. The award was presented to both companies for their accomplishments as a DoD Mentor-Protege team. The prestigious Nunn-Perry Award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding Mentor-Protege teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protege program. The award honors teams that excel in quality technical assistance, return on investment and Protege development.

CEO and President of PROTEUS Technologies, Ms. Teresa Taylor and Executive Vice President, Dr. Charles Taylor, accepted the award at the annual Department of Defense Mentor-Protege Conference on March 10th at the Gaylord in National Harbor, MD. "We are honored to be selected for the Nunn-Perry Award," stated Ms. Taylor, "The Mentor-Protege accomplishments achieved in partnership with Booz Allen and Howard University have propelled PROTEUS forward in the development of robust and efficient business processes; the expansion of technical solution offerings (most notably the development of an engineering process model); staff certification and training; and secure facility architecture, build-out and certification."

To further sustain and support PROTEUS' steady growth and future goals, Booz Allen and PROTEUS also maintain a thriving partnership on several large intelligence agency contracts, with notable successes in our nation's war on terror. PROTEUS' Protege relationship with Booz Allen has enhanced its ability to grow into a successful mid-sized business, capable of priming larger government contracting opportunities, as well as provide world class facilities, training and career growth for its most valuable asset, its staff members.

PROTEUS, a provider of software and systems engineering solutions, has seen phenomenal growth and success within the DoD arena over the past several years. In 2009, PROTEUS participated in a special limited edition book published for the Maryland Governor's Office, developed in cooperation with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development entitled Maryland Working Wonders. PROTEUS' story, featured in the "Champions of Commerce" section, describes the company's history, successes, talented staff, world class facilities, community support, and technical contributions in helping defend our nation. PROTEUS has also been honored over the past year by Washington area technology organizations and journals for its growth, client commitment, and high quality technical services:
