Arizona Technology Council Calls for Nominations for the 2010 CIO of the Year Awards
PHOENIX - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Arizona
Technology Council today announced a call for nominations for its
second annual CIO of the Year Awards. Scheduled to be presented on
Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Phoenix Convention Center as part of
the Council's fourth annual Arizona
Business & Information Technology Expo, these awards will honor
individual Arizona technology executives from industry, non-profit,
academia and government. Nominees, especially chief information officers
or those in equivalent positions, are recognized for their innovation
and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems,
future IT goals, management philosophy, and service to the industry and
community.
"It takes great leaders to keep Arizona's technology sector on the
cutting edge, and this is an opportunity for the Arizona Technology
Council to honor them," said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO of the
Arizona Technology Council. "The characteristics we're looking for in
our CIO of the Year include expert in technology, business strategist,
effective leader, innovative thinker, consensus builder and a person of
integrity."
Any individual located in Arizona holding a senior ranking IT position
may be nominated, although the company must be located or hold
subsidiary operations within the state of Arizona. Entry forms and

The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 2, 2010.
Award Categories include: Small - for organizations with fewer than 50
employees; Medium - for organizations between 51 and 250 employees;
Large - for organizations of 251 or more employees; Small
Non-Profit/Government - for non-profit with fewer than 75 employees;
Large Non-Profit/Government - for non-profit with 75 or more employees;
and Academia - presented to a CIO within an accredited higher education
institution.
All award winners will be judged by an independent committee of Arizona
CIOs. The Council will not be part of the selection process. Award
nominations may come from any technology sector. The selection committee
reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not appropriately
represent the technology industry.
