100 Black Men of Long Island to Hold 35th Annual Scholarship Gala
Awards Dinner to be Hosted at Crest Hollow Country Club
100 Hundred Black Men of Long Island Inc. 35th Annual Scholarship Gala at the Crest Hollow Country Club, Saturday, March 20, 2010.
"The 100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. Scholarship Gala is held annually to support the academic enrichment of high school and college students on Long Island. Ten high schools on Long Island are given scholarships each and every year, and we currently have four endowments at Colleges and Universities across Long Island," said Phil Andrews, OHBMLI President. "Public and private support remains a vital key to our ability to continue to mentor, support, and fund the education of tomorrow's leaders."
The Gala will be held from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. The Crest Hollow Country Club is located at 8325 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, NY, 11797. The elegant evening will include a sumptuous cocktail hour, full course dinner and dancing.
WBLS Radio host Dr. Bob Lee will serve as Master of Ceremonies and entertainers TASE will provide neo soul, new R&B, and funk musical performances.
This year's Gala sponsors include Nassau Community College and National Grid.

"There is no better time than now to invest in Our Children and Our Communities," said Bryan Barnett, OHBMLI Vice President of Special Events/Gala Chairman. "We need the Technology and Tools for Tomorrow's Leaders to prosper in the current and future Global Economy. The 100 Black Men of Long Island Chapter is committed to providing Mentoring, Scholarships and Economic Development programs which educate our Youth and our Community."

The primary focus of the 100 Black Men of Long Island Inc. is to prepare young people who may be at risk for the future by assisting in the enhancement of their academic skills and by increasing their educational opportunities. The programs that directly address this focus are: Mentoring, Scholarship, Achievement Awards, African-American History Bowl, Job Training, and Health & Wellness. The Gala is held in support of those programs.
Tickets to the black tie affair are $175.00 each.
