TOTOWA, N.J. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Mandee (www.mandee.com), the fast-fashion retail chain, will take Chicago retail to a new level of excitement with the opening of its 124th store on Friday, March 12th, featuring a fashion runway-cum-stage concept store, 6,000 sq. feet of retail space and over 20,000 pieces of the hottest trends. The grand opening at the Harlem Irving Plaza Mall (188) will feature the hugely successful Grammy Nominated LMFAO DJ's.

Ken Mandelbaum, chairman & CEO says, "Mandee is very proud to be opening stores and creating jobs in Chicago. We believe fashion and shopping should be fun, affordable and entertaining. The customer is the celebrity."

The exciting colorful merchandise includes sportswear, lingerie, footwear, dresses, cosmetics, swimwear and accessories hot off international runways. A high-energy retail environment makes customers "feel like celebrities." The new store concept, which has been successfully launched in Clifton, NJ, features a dynamic, bright, open shopping environment, and a shiny white runway that converts from display, to stage, to runway in minutes. The store pulsates with music and videos playing on large monitors, creating a very visually exciting retail environment.

This is Mandee's 2nd Chicago store. Mandee employs over 2,000 people in 8 states, in addition to a very interactive, successful website featuring online shopping, promotions and opportunities for consumers to become part of the brand experience with programs like "Star Search." The company, which now employs its 4th generation, is active in social media and is known for a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

The stores are fully owned and operated by the Mandelbaum family, who began their retailing legacy in 1949, when matriarch Molly Mandelbaum opened a candy store, selling magazines, papers, children's toys and ice cream in Brooklyn prior to The Great Depression. After her sons returned from service in WWII, Matriarch Mandelbaum started a cotton goods store with sons Max, Leon and Bernie, selling house dresses, aprons and blouses.

The official grand opening launch will take place from 6-8PM on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Harlem Irving Plaza Mall, location 188.
