Synapse Wireless Doubles Year-on-Year Revenue

Momentum Builds for Continued Growth in 2010

Synapse Wireless®, Inc. today announced that its 2009 revenue doubled over 2008 revenue. Winning major licensing agreements for its SNAP® mesh network operating system with Panasonic and California Eastern Laboratories (CEL), achieving rapid growth in revenue from the energy and asset management markets, and signing an international distribution agreement with Future Electronics positions Synapse for continued growth in 2010.

"2009 was a milestone year for us and speaks to both the hard work of our employees and the growing adoption of SNAP," said Wade Patterson, president and CEO. "The machine-to-machine communication markets are exploding and our investments in making SNAP a growing standard for easy, wireless application development are paying off."

Synapse has increased its workforce by 45 percent since September 2009, and has moved to a new location in Cummings Research Park to provide room for expanded engineering and manufacturing facilities.

Contributing to the record year were an increasing number of design wins from OEMs seeking reliable and secure wireless control and monitoring solutions, the completion of a major contract for RFID technology and the recent deployment of its first pilot units for solar monitoring.

The year was also marked by a number of awards, including "Best New Company" at the Embedded Systems Conference and "Emerging Company of the Year for 2009" by Frost & Sullivan. The year was capped off when SmartGrid.TMCnet.com named the Synapse's SNAP network operating system as the "2009 Smart Grid Product of the Year."
