CareFusion Launches New Pyxis ProcedureStation(TM) Radio Frequency Identification System at Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses 57th Annual Congress

CareFusion (NYSE: CFN), a leading, global medical device company, today announced the launch of the Pyxis ProcedureStation(TM) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system, a secure supply management system that helps hospitals manage high-value stents.

The Pyxis ProcedureStation RFID system is the latest technology added to CareFusion's Pyxis® Supply Technologies that provide a measurable return on investment and integrates with health care information systems. The system helps eliminate the need for clinicians to manually enter information and helps improve efficiency and workflow while reducing error-prone manual documentation.

In addition, other Pyxis Supply Technologies will be featured at the CareFusion booth #602 at the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Congress from March 15 - 18 in Denver, including:

    --  Pyxis® Supply Technologies version 9.1: In conjunction with the RFID
        system,  this new software release supports RFID technology and includes
        new features developed to help hospitals improve item availability,
        workflow and financial performance.
    --  A new, enhanced version of the Pyxis® JITrBUD device: A wireless
        open-access inventory management system that attaches directly to
        existing storage devices and communicates with the Pyxis SupplyStation®
        system, Pyxis ProcedureStation(TM) system and health care information
        systems to electronically document and reorder dispensed supplies.
        Enhancements include increased operating range, real-time visual
        feedback on device status and enhanced mounting capabilities.
    --  Commercial release of the Pyxis ProcedureStation(TM) system with Tissue
        and Implant module: A system that manages tissue, biologics and other
        implantables by creating an electronic chain-of-custody record from the
        initial receipt at the hospital to patient implantation or disposal.

Other CareFusion products, including ChloraPrep® skin prep products, Pyxis® automated dispensing systems and V. Mueller® surgical instruments will also be highlighted at the company's AORN booth.
