PORTLAND, Ore. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - More than 50 Pacific Northwest companies now subscribe to dotCal.com (dotCal), an Internet-based calendar communication service. dotCal works with each business' Web site to enhance event marketing and communication strategies. Its clients fall within a variety of industries, including nonprofit organizations, retailers, wineries, studios, health clubs and restaurants. dotCal subscribers include:

Parent company Neutral Space launched a beta version of dotCal in late 2009. In early 2010, dotCal concluded its beta phase and is operating as a revenue generating business with paid subscribers. Many of dotCal's beta customers have transitioned from the free service to the standard subscription program, with new customers signing up for dotCal's standard pricing program.

"The beta version received overwhelmingly positive reviews from each of our testers, all of whom continue to work with dotCal," said founder and CEO, Danton Mendell. "We are pleased to be working with such a distinguished group of Pacific Northwest businesses and look forward to expanding our portfolio of clients nationwide."

Similar to RSS and other publishing programs, dotCal enables businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals to share and publish a variety of time-relevant information that can be accessed across numerous online calendar platforms. Because dotCal is standards based, it is compatible with most calendar programs, including Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal, Yahoo Calendar and Mozilla Thunderbird, as well as many mobile phone calendars, including the iPhone. Individual subscriptions are free, with monthly business and nonprofit subscriptions starting at $29.

dotCal is a member of CalConnect, a calendar and scheduling consortium based in Northern California. dotCal and CalConnect are focused on the exchange of calendar and scheduling information across various programs, platforms and technologies. Active dotCal and CalConnect partners include Apple, Google, Carnegie Mellon, Eventful, IBM, Dartmouth, Microsoft, Nokia, Mozilla, NASA, Oracle, RPI, and Yahoo!.
