5150 Juice Re-Launches Caffeine-filled Syringe After Public Outcry
Company adds warning label to syringe filled with liquid caffeine
The product in question is a syringe that is filled with 166mg of liquid caffeine. It was designed to allow consumers to inject a beverage with the caffeine thus allowing any drink to be turned into an energy-boosting drink. The concern was not about the liquid caffeine but that a hypodermic needle could be attached to the syringe. The company removed it from inventory briefly while a solution to the outcry was developed.
It was ultimately decided that a simple warning label should suffice. The company said in a recently released statement that the syringe was only a novelty item and that a hypodermic needle cannot be attached to it.
"5150 Juice is the ultimate energy boost that lets consumers pick which drink to convert into an energy drink," said Rick Garloff, creator of 5150 Juice. "People love that they can set and control their own personal level of caffeine consumption using the syringe."
As a way to extend an Olive Branch, the company is giving away a free bottle of 5150 Juice to all visitors at: 'http://www.5150Juice.com/Free.html'.
