ACAC Finalizes Infrared Thermography Certification
Announcement of new certification
The new certifications - referred to as the Council-certified Environmental Thermographer (CET) and Council-certified Environmental Thermography Consultant (CETC) - are developed and administered in a manner that can be accredited by CESB, an independent third-party accreditation body for engineer-related certifications.
The American Council for Accredited Certification (formerly known as the American IAQ Council) first announced that its Infrared Thermography certification was in development in July of 2009.
The CET/CETC certifications - the first of their kind - are board-awarded by a nationwide panel of industry peers.
. The CET/CETC is not specific to an IR camera manufacturer
. There is no industry trade association involved with the CET/CETC
. There is no mandatory course - there is no course curriculum
. The CET/CETC examinations are based on industry texts
. The CET/CETC examinations are delivered electronically
. The CET/CETC examinations are independently proctored
. The exams are available at more than 400 locations worldwide
The CET/CETC certification examination will be available March 15, 2010.
