Surrender Militant Shot Dead in Kashmir

Srinagar, March 8: A surrendered militant was shot dead by an unknown gunmen in Kashmir on Sunday evening.
A senior police officer said the unidentified gunmen fired from point blank range towards a surrendered militant Aijaz Ahmad Dada near his residence Hamza Colony Bemina, some 4 kms North of Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir at around 2115 hours on Sunday.
"Aijaz received multiple bullet injuries and was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival," the officer said.
Immediately after the shoot-out, police and paramilitary soldiers laid siege around the area. However, no arrests were reported.
No militant group has owned the responsibility of the attack.
The militants have shot dead hundreds of surrendered militant suspecting them of working for government forces.
