Karl Rove Tells the Same Lies in New Book, Defends Bush

Karl Rove, long known as George W. Bush's puppet master, has a new book coming out entitled Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight.

In the book, Karl Rove claims that Bush didn't lie to get us into a war with Iraq. One quote from the book states "Would the Iraq War have occurred without WMD? I doubt it. Congress was very unlikely to have supported the use-of-force resolution without the threat of WMD. The Bush administration itself would probably have sought other ways to constrain Saddam, bring about regime change, and deal with Iraq's horrendous human rights violations."

WMD, of course an acronym-turned-platitude for "weapons of mass destruction," were nowhere to be found in Iraq according to an official CIA report back in 2005.

The US, long known to be the unofficial world police, added to its laundry-list of invaded nations by invading Iraq in 2003 based on the lies of WMD and Saddam Hussein barring UN inspectors from the nation.

The UN inspection lie was one frequently repeated by Bush in various interviews, with his obsequious supporters ignoring the fact that Hussein did in fact comply with Resolution 1441 by disposing of WMD and letting inspectors examine whatever they needed to.

Let's not forget: this is an impressionable nation that was swayed into war based on the events of 9/11. Bush could have taken that podium and said "Iraq is harboring evil leprechauns with the intent of dropping pots of explosive gold on our nation's most vital communication centers" and the nation would have still supported the war.

Rove also goes into detail about his support for waterboarding and other extreme interrogation techniques, saying the Bush administration "did not cross the legal line into torture."

And of course, what good is a prevarication-laden memoir without a little sensationalism to dampen the fallacies a bit? He goes into detail about his mother's suicide, and states that after he dodged a bullet by not being indicted after leaking Valerie Plame's name to the media, he "placed the receiver in its cradle and wept."

There's no doubt many other things that Rove denies and dodges in this book, however he does credit himself with one misstep: Katrina. Unfortunately, he defends Bush's decision to fly over Louisiana after Katrina instead of landing and surveying the destruction. What a surprise.

Well, "Turd Blossom," kudos to your new tell-all book. You will be giving the GOP new life to defend their beloved former president and raking in the profits. However, to the rest of the logical nation, you're just a compulsive liar trying to clear the smog that will forever hover above your puppet's head.

So, in conclusion, if you bought the Bush administration's crap over the years, you will enjoy this book. If you're one of the rational damned, I'm sure you could use a nice $30 paperweight.
