Just-Eat Canada Reveals Final Medal Standings in GTA Food Take-Out and Delivery Olympics

Just-Eat Canada has determined that the top three take-out and delivery foods of choice in the GTA during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games were: Gold, Thai; Silver, Chinese; Bronze, Pizza. Over the course of the Winter Games online orders made through just-eat.ca increased by 35% as people in the GTA found the convenience of online ordering for food take out and delivery.

"We saw a marked increase in online ordering during the 2010 Olympic Games because so many folks were taking in what was happening in Vancouver," says David Power, managing director of Just-Eat. "Canadians were really into watching the Olympics and with the ease of using just-eat.ca people in the GTA were able to take in the Games from the comfort of their homes with no hassle or stress - except for maybe the stress during the hockey games!"

Curiously, online orders for chicken wings increased during the Olympics vaulting that take-out/delivery item into 5th place. Normally wing orders don't hit the top five. Sushi, often a top three item, was the 4th most ordered item on the Just-Eat Canada web site from February 12 to 28, 2010.
