Trafficking of Teen Ignites Wild Ride Through Novel, Erebus: Nightmare of a Social Worker by Sam Saladino
Three-time Hugo Award-winning author said, "Dante was only a tourist in Hell, but Saladino has lived in the seventh circle for many years ..."
James A. Cox, editor of the Midwest Book Review, said of Saladino's novel, "Intelligent - A work worthy of the highest praise."
"... shocking but not written for the sake of sensationalism, and is threaded with compassion." Philip Jose Farmer, Three-time Hugo Award-winning Author
"Erebus ... a long dark passage to Hades ... Hellish truths ... a blend of fiction and personal experience ..." Clarence Peterson, Chicago Tribune

"This book is not for the namby-pamby, the weak of heart ... a Hell on earth ... shocking ... holds the reader's attention ... some characters can find rest only in the underworld of death, while others painfully claw their way back to life's surface ... graphically portrayed ..." Mike Matulis, The Pantagraph
"... an intricate tale to expose ... inequities produced in the meting out of social justice, and the ever-resilient nature of the human soul's search for survival." The West Coast Review of Books
"... most compelling book I ever read ... full of compassion." Jeanne Eisenhauer, WDAN Radio
"Erebus is startling ... It should be read by everyone interested in correcting societal ills." John Austin, Hollywood Insider
"... compelling, disturbing, explosive ..." Paul Steiner, Columnist, Syndicated Writer, New York
Erebus is a revised, expanded edition, authored by Saladino after being told he was losing his job after 27 years. A metamorphosis set Saladino into motion, resulting in a warped world few have lived in and a life no one wants to live.
Sam Saladino has taught school, dealt with troubled adolescents as a specialized foster parent, counselor and supervisor at a children's home. Moving from the frying pan into the fire, he worked as a crisis interventionist and as a child abuse/neglect investigator. Currently, he is a foster/adoptive parent trainer, editor for a newsletter, and regional reporter, residing in East Peoria, Ill. A screenplay version of Erebus is available on request from the author.
