Coming out of the Closet in the Constipation Category, Purdue Products Awards 'Best Seats in the House' to Over 100 Consumers
STAMFORD, Conn., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- It seems that tickets to sporting events, concerts and movies are enough to make consumers forget their discomfort and embarrassment dealing with digestive health issues, including constipation. Over 25,000 entries were received for Purdue Products' unique, "buzz worthy" sweepstakes, "Best Seats in the House," over five months in 2009. This program involved top retailers across the country, and culminated with the January announcement of three grand prize winners.
"As a leader in the constipation relief arena, Purdue is taking a novel and lighthearted, but educational approach to creating awareness about the symptoms, causes and treatments for occasional constipation," explains Charlene Bailey, Director, Product Management. "The 'Best Seats' promotion was designed to remind consumers that they don't have to miss out on life experiences due to irregularity. According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), more than four million Americans suffer from occasional constipation. As Bailey explains, "There are many lifestyle triggers for constipation, including stress, poor diet and travel. Purdue announced three grand prize winners, each of whom received a three-day/two-night getaway to an event of their choice, valued at $5,000 each. Thirteen weekly prize winners received two tickets to the event of their choice, valued at $800; 86 daily winners each received two tickets to the event of their choice, valued at $400.
"Best Seats" was a multichannel sweepstakes that consumers entered to win Ticketmaster giftcards to their favorite events. The promotion was supported by Della Femina and Pollock Communications.
