$1.2 Billion Abington Bank Upgrades to Open Solutions' Enterprise-Wide Relational Data Processing Platform

GLASTONBURY, Conn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Abington Bank, headquartered in Jenkintown, Pa., announced its selection of Open Solutions Inc. latest core release, DNA (formerly The Complete Banking Solution: DNA). Open Solutions is a leading provider of integrated enabling technologies for financial service providers throughout the United States, Canada and international markets. Currently running Open Solutions' TotalPlus processing platform, the Bank will upgrade to better meet its current and future needs.

For more than 140 years, Abington Bank has served the banking needs of suburban Philadelphia. The Bank has more than 65,000 accounts, 20 locations and $1.2 billion in assets. The Bank has been an Open Solutions' client since 1993 and most recently made the decision to convert to Open Solutions' latest release, DNA.

Vice President, Information Systems for Abington Bank, Anna Bennett, said, "We have been very satisfied with the service and support we have received from Open Solutions. As the Bank continues to grow and expand, we outgrew our current platform. We knew we needed to migrate to a more sophisticated platform. We determined the DNA platform was the best solution for the Bank. In addition to its ease of use, the solution will integrate three different legacy systems into one, easy-to-navigate platform. This will significantly streamline our operations and drive efficiency in our processes. Additionally, the customer-centric nature of the system will help us better serve our customers."

Enhanced by Open Solutions' advanced open platform and using .NET technology, DNA capitalizes on the strength of Open Solutions' unique universal data model and design and its client-centric processes, while greatly enhancing workflow, flexibility, navigation and productivity. Built on a powerful, centralized Oracle relational database, the solution provides the flexibility necessary for running a service-oriented financial institution. Available as an in-house or outsourced solution, it helps banks streamline both front- and back-office processes and creates a centralized view of customers, employees and business partners.

In addition to DNA, Abington Bank also purchased Open Solutions' financial accounting suite, cView (CRM/business intelligence) and conversion best practices, an offering from Open Solutions' Professional Services in which a team of consultants identify opportunities for Abington Bank to change processes in order to maximize the capabilities of DNA.

"We know banks have many options in the market in terms of their preferred technology provider," said Louis Hernandez, Jr., chairman and CEO of Open Solutions. "We are proud of the work we've done with Abington to date and look forward to the next chapter as the Bank migrates to our latest core release, DNA. The Bank's choice to continue to work with Open Solutions is further testament of the value we deliver and the unique offering we provide. We understand the challenges facing financial institutions in today's market and we have developed sophisticated solutions designed to address and solve those business hurdles."
