A massive earthquake (Magnitude 8.8) on the coast of Chile has killed at least 78 people and has triggered a massive tsunami that will affect the majority of the pacific basin. The earthquake has flattened buildings and currently the country is under a state of devastation.
A tsunami warning has been extended across all Pacific islands and the Pacific Rim, including most of Central and South America and as far as Australia and Antarctica.
Emergency officials ask that citizens not use telephones unless it is a dire emergency.
Story still developing...
Note: An 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake is 32 times stronger than a 7.0 Magnitude Earthquake. This means that it was 1,000 stronger than the Haiti earthquake.
