Famous Pianist & Composer to Perform in Folsom on Sunday
Is Honored to Present Renowned Pianist Corinne Moerbeek Sunday, February 21 2:30 p.m. Champagne Reception to Follow
Corinne Moerbeek is a Pianist, Composer and Music Coach from The Netherlands. She grew up and still lives near Amsterdam in a small village where many painters, sculptors and musicians have found an inspiring group of kindred spirits to connect with.
Corinne Moerbeek started to compose as a nine year old, encouraged by her piano teacher. She wrote piano pieces inspired by the music from composers she played in her piano lessons. Starting with Walter Carrol, later Brahms and Debussy. During her piano study Corinne accompanied many musicians and that resulted in her first Chamber Music.
Corinne grew up in a musical family. Her mother was a flutist and bassoon player in the "Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra" and her father was a jazz trumpet and flugelhorn player in several jazz bands. During her teenage years she started to like heavy metal music and both her brothers played in a rock band. Since 1995 corinne slowly started to find a new and very personal style of composing. The music Corinne makes now is a reflection of al the musical influences in her life.
From her study on she accompanied many solo musicians and chamber ensembles. She was the pianist in "The Orchestra of the 20thcentury" in Holland and the "Kurpfalz Kammerorchester" in Germany. This gave her the opportunity to perform through Europe andthe United States. She also performed for Dutch and German radio.
In September 2008 Corinnes first CD was released with the title "Listen, This Is What It Is".
Besides composing and piano playing, Corinne also teaches and coaches musicians. She developed a teaching method for amateur pianists and a coaching method "Concious Musicianship" for professional musicians with performing and other work related problems. Her inspiration for teaching and her performings is found in the essence of Zen Meditation and the interest in human nature.
American Visions is very pleased to have Corinne perform on Sunday and invites you to join us for this memorable event.
