Orlando Vet Making a Positive Difference in Central Florida Politics

  Share With Friends

Orlando, FL, February 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- When Frank Torres started his company last July, he knew what his goal was. To raise awareness about Military and Veterans issues, and to get all of the parties involved. A little over half a year later, he has done just that.

Frank Torres's voter awareness campaign has had a presence in Central Florida political events affecting every race in the region from county mayor to the United States Senate, leading efforts to inform the voters and the candidates about important military and veterans issues. Torres states, “Talking to veterans, identifying trends and letting the lawmakers currently in office and the candidates running against them know about it. That is how you get the wheels turning. I also talk to every voter I can, educate them and ask them to question the candidates about these issues as well.”

Late last year, Frank worked with members of Congress from both parties to push for a resolution in the Retroactive Stop Loss Pay Program; A program that rewards service members that have exceeded their service requirement, which has had problems since its inception. Frank laughs while mentioning “My operation is still new to the scene here Central Florida, so there was a lot of runaround with the staff to make a positive difference. I really had to have my facts straight.”

Frank's FTS blog has attracted hundreds of readers and grows by the day. It reflects Frank's opinion concerning local government and current events; he also hopes to cross over into other issues as well, as his operation grows. Torres goes on to add, “There are a lot of good people out there with important issues that they need help communicating to government and the public. There are plenty of companies that make a good living helping out large corporations and that's fine. I want to help out the little guy because, I am the little guy and sometimes it just takes a little push to make some great things happen.” The FTS blog can be found at franktorres.net
