Naomi Campbell Amazed By How Hard Fashion Designers Work
By Cover Fashion
The 39-year-old supermodel began her career when she was 15, and still finds it hard to fathom how much work goes into catwalk shows. She arranges the annual Fashion for Relief runway parade in honour of charity, and finds that stressful enough.
"I really take my hat off to the designers I've been working with for the last 25 years - I was talking to John Galliano the other day, he does about 16 shows a year which is unbelievable - and it's increasing now because of the Resort collections," she explained. "Stella McCartney explained it to me; the resort collections used to be a really big deal - but then they went off radar and now they're getting bigger than ever, so there's more work than ever. For now my charity projects are keeping me busy enough."
Naomi still loves taking to the catwalk, and plans to strut her stuff for as long as she can. She never tires of putting on strange outfits or having her photograph taken, and is always pleased to receive calls from designers wanting to book her. "I still love my day job," she told vogue.co.uk. "When I get asked, if I'm in the right part of the world then I love to do it. I like the adrenaline rush and the live aspect of it. It's nice when it's well received and I like helping out the designers if they want me there."
