NEW YORK, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- OgilvyOne announced today that Phil Buehler is joining the agency as Director of Experience Planning, and will partner with OgilvyOne Managing Director Harvey Kipnis and OgilvyOne Executive Creative Director Mat Zucker. He will report to Colin Mitchell, Joint Worldwide Planning Director of Ogilvy.

Buehler joins OgilvyOne from Euro RSCG Worldwide where he was Chief Market Scientist, a role in which he oversaw the design and implementation of the agency's consumer and brand research initiatives. He was previously the first Director of Account Planning at McGarry Bowen as it grew from 25 to 200 employees. He was for many years the Head of Planning at Wunderman, where he established and led the first account planning group in direct marketing. He was one of the architect's Young and Rubicam's Brand Asset Valuator.

Mitchell noted that, "One-to-one marketing is changing rapidly from simple direct communications to a series of highly targeted, customized brand experiences. Phil can help us be innovators in this. He has deep knowledge of how to mine databases and use segmentation to allow marketers to talk to people in a way that feels personal and natural."

This latest appointment is part of drive by Ogilvy & Mather to strengthen strategic services, a strategy that CEO Miles Young describes as "fundamental to our growth plans". In North America, the capability includes over 100 analytics experts, 60 Planners and 30 marketing consultants. It follows several key hires across these disciplines in the last 12 months.

Buehler explained, "The explosion of analytics has introduced a new age in the science of direct marketing. I think Ogilvy has embraced that more than any other agency. I'm excited to start this new chapter with them."
