Belmont Rapid Infuser, Used to Treat Wounded, on Site for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics
VANCOUVER - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Belmont Instrument Corporation announced today that at the request of
the Olympic Organizing Committee, it has installed a Belmont
Rapid Infuser at the mobile hospital in Whistler, BC for emergency
use during the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games . The Rapid Infuser has been
used extensively by the US Army for treating massive blood loss in Iraq
and Afghanistan where it has been credited with helping to save the
lives of hundreds of soldiers and civilians. This life-saving device is
also used in most major hospitals in the US and a growing number of
medical centers throughout the world.
