Martin Campbell 'Too Much Credit'
Martin Campbell 'Too Much Credit' For Bond
I totally agree. He did get too much credit for both. Any movie that reboots that franchise is on to a winner irrespective of the director pretty much. Any new actor is going to be given a huge amount of publicity and kudos and be seen as the life saver of Bond! Pierce had it - Goldeneye was a fantastic film and he was Bond to a T.
Then sadly his films got less and less well written and then silly. It wasn't how he wanted them to be. He'd waited long and hard for that role and they should have pulled out all the stops to make his tenure the best ever. But the Brocoli's didn't have the courage then and when they did they wanted another Bond.
Craig's Casino Royale was good but his second outing has been seen in hindsight as rather a lukewarm sequel. Too much mindless violence and no humour. It will be interesting for some I should think, to see how they go forward now that they've introduced a "thuggish" Bond. Personally for me the whole thing is passé now.
Long live Bourne!
