Tea Party Express to NOT Attend Convention
The leadership of the Tea Party Express said today the group will not attend the Tea Party Nation Convention February 4th - 6th in Nashville, TN.
"We are very saddened to announce that we simply will not be able to participate in this convention, despite our initial plans to attend the convention," said Mark Williams, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.
"We had fully expected to participate in this convention and were excited about this event. However, between our support for Scott Brown's Senate campaign in Massachusetts, our launch of the 'Defeat Harry Reid' campaign in Nevada, and our planning for Tea Party Express III, we found ourselves over-extended and unable to take on the mini-tour and rally we had planned for the Tea Party Convention," said Williams.
The Tea Party Express stressed that there is no tension between themselves, the Tea Party Nation and its convention.
"We wish them a very successful convention. The goals of this convention, to gather tea party activists together and plan for future activities to advance this movement, are goals we wholeheartedly support," said Williams.
The Tea Party Express organizers say they will focus their time and financial resources on the upcoming "Tea Party Express III: Just Vote Them Out" national tour. The tour begins with a Mega Rally in Searchlight, NV, which is Senator Harry Reid's hometown, on Saturday, March 27th and ends in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, April 15th.
