The Five Star Institute 2010 Spring Training & Short Sale Summit Heads to Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Five Star Institute (FSI), an education provider that offers professional guidance and a specialization in working with distressed real estate, is bringing its 2010 Spring Training & Short Sale Summit to Las Vegas--a market that's been one of the hardest hit by the housing downturn and foreclosure crisis. The event will be held at the M Resort from March 10-13.

The Vegas summit marks the third annual West Coast training conference hosted by FSI, bringing in-depth education on the handling and marketing of distressed properties directly to agents and brokers in this part of the country. New this year, on March 12, is the Short Sale Summit. FSI is dedicating the day's full agenda to short sales to ensure real estate professionals are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to execute each step of this foreclosure alternative. Short sales are becoming an increasingly attractive preforeclosure strategy for lenders and struggling homeowners alike. According to a report released by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in December, completed short sales increased 127 percent between September 30, 2008 and September 30, 2009. The Obama administration has also incorporated short sales into its Making Home Affordable program as a viable strategy for borrowers who did not qualify for a mortgage modification.

In addition to the full-day summit on short sales, FSI's 2010 Spring Training covers such areas as building an REO business, mastering broker price opinions (BPOs), and working with the distressed borrower, among others--all taught by instructors who are recognized leaders in their respective fields.
