One Corporation - Many Votes?

The Supreme Court recently ruled that a corporation, being legally an individual, has the same right to free speech as any other citizen in U.S. politics.

Well, not exactly, because while the Supreme Court said corporations can contribute to political campaigns as a matter of free speech, other laws say corporations can spend as much as they desire if they can spend anything at all.

Why? Are corporations Super Citizens?

There is a strict limit on how little I can spend on promoting or, more likely opposing a political candidate, why can a corporation can spend as much as it wants?

Does that mean that corporations get far MORE free speech rights than individuals? We all know money equals rights in this country. Was that what Mason had in mind when he wrote the Bill of Rights?

Also, since foreign individuals, foreign companies or even foreign countries (Sovereign Wealth Funds) can form U.S. corporations; doesn't the recent Supreme Court ruling mean that a foreign country or foreign individuals can spend as much as they want to influence U.S. election results while actual human citizens can't?

So, which world are you expecting to develop, the world of Soylent Green, Mad Max, or Tank Girl?

Despite corporate propaganda, oil won't last forever, in fact, many experts think we've used so much that yearly production will go down from now on, global warming is easily measured, and corporations now have more rights to influence politics than do individual human citizens.
