Sacramento County Coroner Office Confirms Identify of Deceased Person
Update: Kids Playing in Brush Discover Dead Body
Related to the original release dated the 5th of December, 2009, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office has confirmed the identity of the deceased person found in a Briggs Ranch neighborhood of Folsom as Earl Barrett Jr., 44 years of age.
Barrett was a frequent guest of a residence in the Briggs Ranch. Based on the investigation into Barrett's unattended death, he suffered from medical issues which may have lead to his untimely passing. Barrett was also reported by friends and family as a "roamer" who would disappear without notice for unspecified lengths of time, traveling through Oregon, Nevada, and California. Barrett's family stated they hadn't seen or heard from him since September 2009. Barrett was still in possession his wallet and identification when he was discovered by the juveniles.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has notified Barrett's family of his passing, but they have not established a cause of death as of yet. Barrett showed no obvious signs of a traumatic death. The Folsom Police Department will continue to investigate Barrett's death until the coroner's report is released.
