KIWI & Comcast-Spectacor Join Forces to Ensure That All Americans Can Walk a Mile in Their Own Shoes
EXTON, Pa. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - KIWI Shoe Care, part of the Sara Lee Corporation, (NYSE:
SLE), today announced a partnership with Comcast-Spectacor, specifically
the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers, in support of
Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that facilitates the collection
and donation of shoes to those in need across the United States and
worldwide.
To support the mission of Soles4Souls, KIWI and Comcast-Spectacor
will ask fans to donate new or gently worn shoes in a two-day effort
beginning when the Philadelphia 76ers tip off against the Los Angeles
Lakers on Friday, January 29th and followed by the
Philadelphia Flyers face-off against the New York Islanders on Saturday,
January 30th. Willie Green of the Philadelphia 76ers and Ian
Laperriere of the Philadelphia Flyers will also lend their support to
this initiative with in-arena, online and radio public service
announcements highlighting this community initiative. Further, all fans
who donate shoes at these designated games will be eligible to win a
team-specific MVP package, which includes game tickets,
behind-the-scenes tours of the Wachovia Center, autographed memorabilia
and a chance for either a Zamboni ride at a future Flyers game or a
courtside visit at a future 76ers game.
