PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Agile Alliance, (www.agilealliance.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the advancement of Agile software development principles and practices, today announced the "call for speakers" for Agile 2010 is now open. Set for Aug. 9 - 13 in Nashville, (http://agile2010.agilealliance.org). Agile 2010 is the leading international conference on Agile methods in software development, bringing together many disciplines in the fields of information systems and software development to foster the exchange of fresh ideas and best practices.

"This year's conference will examine the latest theory, practical applications and implications of Agile methods," said Jim Newkirk, Agile 2010 conference chair. "The Agile approach focuses on delivering business value early in the project lifetime and being able to incorporate emergent requirements. The Agile conference is not about a single methodology or approach, but rather provides a forum for the exchange of information regarding all Agile development technologies."

The Agile 2010 submission process will be somewhat different from past years. In previous years submissions were submitted to individual stages for consideration. This year, interested presenters will submit abstracts that address one of the broad conference themes - Business, Technical, and Leadership & Organization. Once submitted, the program committee will identify and forward abstracts to the most appropriate stage for consideration.

In addition, to help ensure the conference offers sessions that vary in experience level and address topics of interest shared by past attendees, the program committee will invite specific sessions. These 180 minute sessions will be presented on the first day of the conference and will be selected based on the following criteria (in priority order):

    1. The session content fills a specific hole in the program, either from a
pure content perspective or from an experience level.
    2. The session provides a fresh perspective on a particular topic.
    3. The presenter scored in the top 20% with regard to feedback at last
       year's conference.

"The changes we have made to the speaking submission process aims to build on the success of past conferences and ensure that all members of the Agile community - regardless of experience level - have focused sessions to attend," said Newkirk. "I invite anyone interested in speaking at this year's conference to visit our main Web site and also review a more detailed outline of this year's process on the Agile 2010 blog at (http://agile2010.wordpress.com/)."

The submission system in open now and will remain open until Feb. 19, 2010. For more information or to submit a presentation please visit: http://agile2010.agilealliance.org/index.html.
