GridPoint Appoints Energy and Tech Experts as Advisors
ARLINGTON, Va. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - GridPoint, Inc., an established leader in smart grid solutions, today
announced the appointment of new members to its board of advisors
including Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Thomas R. Kuhn,
former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental
Protection (DEP) Kathleen McGinty, The Brattle Group Chairman Emeritus
Peter Fox-Penner, and technology journalist Andy Kessler.

Mr. Kuhn is President of EEI, the association of investor-owned electric
companies whose members generate and distribute approximately
three-quarters of the nation's electricity. Prior to joining the
Institute, he was President of the American Nuclear Energy Council. He
currently serves on the boards of the United States Energy Association,
the Alliance to Save Energy, the Electric Drive Transportation
Association, and the American Council for Capital Formation. Mr. Kuhn
was the recipient of The Energy Daily's 2000 Public Policy Leadership
Award and the Alliance to Save Energy's 2004 Chairman's Award.
As Secretary of Pennsylvania's DEP, Ms. McGinty helped lead the state's
successful effort to attract clean tech and renewable energy companies.
Currently she is a founding partner with Peregrine Technology Partners
LLC, a firm focused on the commercialization of clean technologies, and
an operating partner at private equity firm Element LLC. Additionally,
Ms. McGinty serves as a director at NRG Energy, Inc., a leading
wholesale power company; Energy East, a gas and electric utility in New
York and New England; and Weston Solutions, Inc., an environmental
remediation firm. Previously, she served as President Bill Clinton's
Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, as well as a
legislative assistant and environmental advisor to Senator Al Gore.
Dr. Fox-Penner, an internationally recognized authority on energy and
electric power industry issues, is a Principal and Chairman Emeritus of
The Brattle Group, a leading international economic consulting
firm, an advisor to Enviance, and board member of the Solar Foundation.
Although his work has spanned the energy field, his primary current
focus is on electric industry competition and structure, global climate
change, and energy efficiency policies. Dr. Fox-Penner is the author of
numerous publications and books including the forthcoming "Smart Power"
(Island Press, 2010).
Mr. Kessler is a former AT&T Bell Labs chip designer turned Wall Street
analyst turned hedge fund manager turned author who now covers
technology and markets. He writes often for the Wall Street Journal,
Forbes, Wired and Technology Review and has appeared on CNBC, CNN, Fox,
NPR and Dateline NBC. His books include "Wall Street Meat," "Running
Money" and "The End of Medicine." Mr. Kessler worked on Wall Street for
almost 20 years, including stints as an electronics and semiconductor
analyst for Paine Webber and technology strategist for Morgan Stanley,
as well as an investment banker and venture capitalist.
