NEW YORK, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- On December 15th, 2009, the Financial Women's Association (FWA) hosted a holiday benefit at the New York Stock Exchange to raise funds for the organization's Educational Fund, thanks to the generous support of Prudential Financial, which donated $15,000 to underwrite the event.

The benefit raised more than $25,000 for the FWA of New York Educational Fund, which supports scholarship, mentoring, and financial literacy programs for women in New York City as well as programs for the general business community. Since the founding of the organization, the FWA has given away more than a million dollars to help further women's education, careers and financial competency.

"This sponsorship underscores the value of the programs we provide and our mission to promote financial education for women in New York," said Stephanie Hauge, president of the FWA.

"Prudential Financial has a long-standing commitment to financial literacy so we are proud to support the FWA and its financial education programs for women," said Maureen Adolf, vice president of external affairs at Prudential Financial.
