Citizen Video-Journalism to Take Center Stage at the United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009 (COP15)

MaYoMo Launches Dedicated Copenhagen 2009 Video Channel for World Citizens to Rally Their Opinions on the Eve of COP15

MaYoMo (Map Your Moments); a powerful new video-centric social network for citizen journalism and the most inspired alternative source for global, multimedia news content; today announced the launch of the Copenhagen 2009 channel -- a dedicated news channel to address global climate issues and opinions. The channel was created in advance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009 (COP15) to give citizen journalists a platform to voice their opinions throughout the conference, which runs December 7-18, 2009.

"Our goal is to create a social citizen platform for debate and we have started with a simple Yes/No question to determine how people perceive their personal involvement in climate issues," said Hristo Alexiev, cofounder of MaYoMo. To monitor the global attitudes regarding climate change and to engage users to participate in the global debate on climate issues, the home page of the MaYoMo Copenhagen 2009 channel asks the question, "Are you ready to pay for the reduction of CO2 emissions?" Results are delivered in real-time at http://mayomo.com/cop15, and global opinions can be filtered by country for a demographic analysis of all results.

Access to content on the MaYoMo website is free. Anyone can quickly create an account and start contributing content and uploading photos, video, and other media assets -- from a variety of devices, including video-enabled phones.
