Downtown Burbank Biggest Event of the Season to Kick-off
DOWNTOWN BURBANK, Calif. - Downtown Burbank's most joyful celebration kicks-off December 1 with the Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony hosted by Radio Disney's Ernie D and a concert by Radio Disney N.B.T. (Next Big Thing) artist Cymphonique, followed by pop recording artist J*Smith from the hit movie Twilight. Then, for the next 12 days, Downtown Burbank will be filled with free family events, music and treats.
The Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony Tuesday, December 1 in front of Burbank City Hall starts at 6:00 P.M. with City Council, Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Burbank Chorale, special guests and Radio Disney's on-air personality Ernie D as emcee. After Santa arrives and the tree is lit, it's off to Santa's Downtown Wonderland on San Fernando Boulevard between Orange Grove and Magnolia.
There, the Radio Disney Los Angeles AM 1110 Road Crew will get everyone in the holiday spirit with music, fun and games starting at 6:30 P.M. followed by a free concert by Cymphonique, N.B.T. artist and the voice of Gretchen on Disney Channel's animated series Phineas and Ferb. Her performance will be followed by a concert of holiday tunes by pop recording artist J*Smith, featured on 750 Clear Channel stations across the country with a myspace fanbase of nearly 2.5 million.
Also at Santa's Downtown Wonderland will be free photos with Santa on the AMC Walkway (bring a camera!), children's characters, face painting, free gifts and more. To benefit a needy child, attendees are asked to bring a new unwrapped gift for the Burbank Fire Department's Spark of Love Toy Drive.
